Merry Christmas!

Isn't this the best Christmas picture?

Dad W practicing with their new camera. That should be a nice shot of Ken's ear.

Catherine got to practice walking too.

Dad doesn't have the heart to tell her that she's a bit out of tune.

All the 06 babies made it to Aunt Mickey's. What a difference a couple of months makes, eh?

Catherine really enjoyed her first Christmas. Thanks to everyone for making it so special.

What a Week

A lot of firsts this week: first teeth (the bottom two are coming in); first unassisted steps; first time climbing Christmas presents. :-) The pictures are below. Also, I hear that the top teeth are even more painful to come in; any tips about getting her (us) through it are appreciated.

Christmas Card Outtakes

Neither of these were selected for our Christmas card, but aren't they cute?

Latest Accomplishments

What a nice Thanksgiving. Catherine had a great time with her cousins, she learned to dance and to crawl the stairs. -- Isn't she too young for that? She'll be 8-months tomorrow; wow, I wish time could stop for a while.

Michigan Game

The nail-biting excitment of the MI game tired poor Catherine out. Thankfully, Uncle Mark was there to function as her lazy boy.

We thought the basement was baby proof. We've caught her a couple times now on the second stair. Ugh. I guess we'll get a gate? Rosie, she's getting ready for you to teach her to walk!

Catherines... and of course Scout

Also, Kim posted some cute picture of Catherine, Grace and Jack.

Visiting

Catherine had a nice time visiting (Great) Uncle Bill and Aunt Sally.

Scout decided it was nap time too. But, we won't be doing this again any time soon; Scout's snoring woke Catherine up after 1/2 hour.

Happy Halloween!

Isn't she the cutest flower you've ever seen?

Seven Months Old

We cannot believe she's seven months old today.

Little Tiger

Catherine and Jim getting ready for the Tiger's game. She seemed to like the game, but Jim and I both agree that she seems to like all the action of hockey a bit better.
We decided to make the downstairs as "Catherine proof" as possible, so the coffee table has been covered with an old comforter. So far, so good.
I'm not sure why these toys look better from the outside.
Just a cute shot.

Nap Time?

I guess my idea for nap time wasn't such a good one.

Ann, I bet you're sorry that you missed this shower! :-)

Nice trip

Catherine had a lot of "firsts" this weekend.
First time touching the ocean.
First time touching sand.
First time in the pool.
First time with noodles.
It all made her a little tired.

Going to Florida

We leave tomorrow for a couple days down to see Jim's parents. It should be a fun trip and the weather is supposed to be in the 80's. It will be Catherine's first plane ride (of course) and we're praying everything goes smoothly. -- You know, I think I was in high school before I was ever on a plane. But, I didn't have grandparents that lived out of state either.

She had her 6-month check-up this week. She's 27-1/4 inches long and 18pds 9ozs. -- That puts her in 90th percentile for length and 75 (or something) for weight. She doesn't seem that big, but when we're with other babies her age she does seem bigger.

I don't know if they check my site, but I often check their site, so good luck to Ann's cousin Jackie! I hope your delivery goes well.

The hat below is from Jim's friend from work. Isn't it great!

Six Months Old

Wow - It's amazing what 6-months can do to your lives; even more amazing is what infant development can happen in 6-months. We're happy that Catherine is moving along so quickly, but also wouldn't mind if she just sat still for a bit.

Okay, there are a couple more pictures like this, but doesn't she look a little like President Bush?

Wabbit Season

Warning: the following Blog may contain amusingly harmless graphic images - no bunny wabbits were hurt in the production of this Blog.

Hunting season opened this week in Michigan. To celebrate the long tradition of carnivorous behavior among the species, Catherine the Great Hunter and her trusty scout, Scout, headed out to the wilds.

On the prowl.

With help from her scout Scout, The Great Hunter locates her quarry.

Nice Weekend

Tom, Jen, Elizabeth and Adam came in for (sister) Catherine's birthday and we all got together for brunch on Saturday and Sunday. It was a fun weekend.

Elizabeth is always a big help with Catherine.
These look like some pretty strong negoti-ations.
Thankfully I was done with this magazine.

Moving along...

It was a busy week: we're continuing to make progress in the kitchen, but we don't seem to be as quick as we used to be (I wonder why that is); Scout had a cyst removed from her eye lid by a vet ophthalmologist (who knew there was such a thing); we went to a baby shower yesterday (where Catherine is always a hit) and then just the normal day-to-day stuff. The outfit below is from my parents, but we knew Jim's parents would enjoy seeing Catherine in the little sailor outfit.
